Where are classes held?

We currently hold messy/sensory play classes in the following locations:

Malahide - St Sylvester’s Pastoral Centre (Tuesday 11am) with Marie

Swords - Applewood Community Centre (Friday 9:30am or 11:15am) with Denise

Clontarf - (Friday 9:30am & 11:15am) with Christine

Role play sessions - weekends & school holidays Malahide, Swords, Terenure & Ashbourne.

What age are classes suitable for?

Messy/ Sensory Play: Suitable from 6 months to 5 years. In the week day classes during term time the average age would be from 6 months - 2/3 years as older children are generally in ECCE or school. At weekends and in school holidays we see a wider variety of ages.

Role Play Village: Our suggested stage in development is from walking to 6 years. Babies are welcome to also attend free of charge, there is no need to book in.

Pricing?

Messy Play: Our terms are aligned with school holidays therefore they different in length and price, each class is €15.50 or €16.50 for a trial. Payment can be made by Revolut, bank transfer or by card the only method to charge a booking fee. We offer a 30% sibling discount which is automatically applied at checkout.

Role Play Village: is pay as you go (PAYG) €13 per session.

How long is each session?

Messy play & Role Play Village: Each session is 1 hour long, as there is formal teaching you can arrive and leave whenever suits you. We focus on child-led play.

How many children are in each class?

Messy play: The maximum number of children is between 15 - 20 it varies due to location and depends on the room size.

Role Play Village: The maximum number of children is 25 children per session, there are 10 destinations to explore. We have a large room with lots of space to take our car or trolley for a spin!


Do you offer trials/ pay as you go?

Messy play: we release full terms first then with any places left we open for trials/ play as you go which can be secured on our booking page. You have the opportunity to select a date within the next 4 weeks and can book more than one if available. You can return back and use the trial option again, as we understand personal circumstances can make attending a full term difficult.

Are sessions suitable for those with additional needs?

Messy Play: We welcome everyone to our sessions, with our child-led experience. There is no formal lesson, we encourage children to decided where and how they want to play. We find this environment is very welcoming for those that may have additional needs. Please don’t hesitate to contact us if we can do anything specific to help a child feel included or welcome.

Role Play Village: We welcome everyone to our sessions, with our full child-led experience there are no formal lessons. We encourage children to decided where and how they want to play. We have recently introduced our Superstars sessions for autistic children with and/ or additional needs. We have produced a social story which can be downloaded below to help prepare children before joining us.


How is the room set up?

Messy Play: There are 8 stations in total 6 messy, a sensory station and a further 2 areas which rotate weekly. Each week there is a new theme, learning resources and mess to explore. The sessions are a child-led experience which allow our adventurers play within their interests.

Role Play Village: We have 10 destinations in the village, come and explore our construction area, hairdressers, post office, cafe, supermarket, garden, emergency room, vet, home or theatre.

What do I need to bring or wear?

Messy play: Both children and parents will get messy so don’t wear your best clothes. Please bring a change of clothes, wet wipes and a towel.
